Interview with Roger Joseph Manning, Jr.

This week on the Palo Alto Pop Overthrow, we interviewed Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. We talked about his album Catnip Dynamite, which we featured last year after it came out in Japan. This week marks its release in the US, which you can get at Not Lame or Amazon.

We chatted about:
  • ...how Roger brought this album to the USA.
  • ...a few songs off of Catnip Dynamite and what they're all about.
  • ...which song of Roger's was practiced but never performed by the Jellyfish, but ended up on the album "Land of Pure Imagination."
  • ...a potential collaboration with one of our favorite bands, Pugwash.
  • ...what music Roger is really grooving to these days.

Take a listen:

So am I right in hearing Roger pronounced it Moo-g Cookbook rather than Moe-g Cookbook? I always thought that the former sounded better even though the latter would be more correct.

Yeah, he did pronounce it Moo-g. That struck me as odd, because the company/brand is definitely Moe-g. Here's an an article about Moog. I also like Moo-g personally :)
